2009 Advent Calendar
Just to say I've started my annual bloggy advent calendar, which always collects my favourite festive images from Flickr. The first image is a beautiful Christmas tree shot by Tamie Snow.
Update: Hmmm, not a very impressive start. Sorry - Tuesday was a pretty bad day, and I didn't get in until late, then I was straight out this morning. I'll try not to miss any more!

Adventing
I've added an advent calendar to the sidebar. I'll update it daily with my favourite (creative-commons licensed) festive images from flickr. As it's a bit late today the first shot is one of mine. I took it last night, while playing around with creating bauble fractals for a uni project. It's a fun technique, although baubles aren't the highest quality mirrors, so everything is maddeningly unsharp. Hmmm.
I always like to have a physical advent calendar. M&S have a Swiss Chocolate one. It looks lovely, and has large amounts of actually decent chocolate. I saw one last week, but it was £8.39, and I've been spending far too much lately. So I skipped it.
Then I saw the Lego City advent calendar. Every day you get a new lego figure, and they build up into a Christmassy scene. Sadly, it was £20.
I bought it. I should not have. Is good though:
I'm not sorry at all.
Apologies
Sorry about the advent calendar. Probably annoys me more than it does anyone else, but apologies nevertheless - I don't like missing these things. Standard excuses: out early, back late, no access to computers in meantime. It'll be back soon.
Saw The Golden Compass this evening. Wtf.
wongaBlog Advent Calendar 2007
Finally launching this year's wongaBlog Advent Calendar. Like last time I'll pick my favourite festive pics from Flickr, always linking to the original. As it's a bit late the first picture is one of mine, taken in nearby Sheep Street.
I'm late in getting the calendar running due to only just getting back home after a very busy few days, hence the lack of posts of any kind. I spent much of the weekend taking photos for a project due in mid-December - I was determined not to leave everything until the last minute this time - as well as a birthday party and plenty of driving around. Good fun though. Currently copying 160 shots to the computer, and I've two black/white films to develop at some point.
Calendar delay
I've had complaints about the advent calendar being late today. Sorry about that. I'm feeling pretty awful with what's hopefully the worst of a cold, and only remembered the calendar just as I was going to sleep last night. At which point the last thing I felt like doing was being awake any longer. I had something of a lie-in this morning, too. Bleurgh. Gonna go have a bath of lemsip.
Incidentally, some kind blogger linked to me pointing out that advent calendars are only for kids, and presumably I should be terribly ashamed, or something. I haven't had many people take the time to tell me I'm childish since, oddly enough, school. How odd. Nevertheless, I consider myself well and truly corrected, and shall go on a growing up course at the earliest opportunity.
Congratulations to the designers of this year’s Dairy Milk Advent Calendar…
...who managed to repeat a picture within the first two days. Maybe coming up with 48 different festive pictures is more difficult than it seems, but two days?!
Grumpy, me?
This is no reflection upon the kind person who bought it for me, of course
