I was once criticised by a tutor for not having a "character through-line" when I played a prostitute in a musical about Jack the Ripper. This means they didn't think I made my character very consistent. The character was part of the Chorus! I've never sung in a Jack the Ripper musical since, which has been nobodies loss but my own.
