1. A new possible cause of autism:

The US study found autism rates were higher among children whose states experienced higher rainfall in their first three years. 

Yes. That seems likely.

2. Some councils have supposedly ‘banned’ Latin terms from official correspondence. All sounds a bit Daily Mail to me, but people are up in arms:

Professor Mary Beard of Cambridge University said it was the linguistic equivalent of ethnic cleansing.

Yeah, I’m going to go ahead and claim there’s no linguistic equivalent of ethnic cleansing.
