@Skuds - that's pretty cool of him! Looking at the BBC's footage of last night's stage door, I think Monday was quiet in comparison.

@Lauren - it seemed like the right thing to do :-)

Re: "what people are always telling me" - I can totally see it.

Also, I find it absolutely charming that you put up a spoiler warning.

For Hamlet.

I mean... It's Hamlet.

I have never been one to hang around stage doors, but some years ago (more than 10) I saw Patrick Stewart doing his one-man show at the Old Vic (A Christmas Carol) and my then-wife wanted an autograph.

We went to the stage door and there was a huge scrum. Remember, this was when ST:TNG was still current and it was the first time PS had done the show in London. We could not get within 20 feet of the front of the crowd before Stewart was bundled into a car after signing loads of stuff.

The Mrs was a bit put out, but I wrote a little letter to Patrick Stewart c/o the theatre and a few days later she got an envelope containing an autographed publicity photo. Nice man.

I'm off now to try and fit the word "geekgasm" into conversation somehow.
