It's because in my inherent nosiness I have spent the first few minutes wondering what people are called, how old they are, where they come from, why they're on this particular course, etc. and this is my chance to see whether I was right or wrong! I used to hate having all eyes on me, but nowadays it's more the fact that it makes me realise how boring I am, that is the annoying part. You're lucky you didn't have the 'say three statements about yourself, one of which being a lie' exercise to do. Best of luck.
