Four years and counting

So. Photography degrees. Thanks very much for all the advice both on and off-line - I’m touched so many people took the time to help, and it certainly turned me around from my initial negative reaction. I just accepted the offer.

Four weeks of thinking and the major worries are still there: the travelling will be expensive and likely take over my week, the theoretical parts of the course look worryingly postmodernist, I’ll probably be paying off student fees for years and I’m still concerned I’ll feel small and pathetic compared to better photographers. But screw it all: interesting things only happen when you say yes. Therefore: yes.

Yay! Major congratulations. I’m sure it’ll work out fine. Don’t forget to look up the finance stuff I told you about - really should mean less debt than your average student. Enjoy your course!

I don’t even want to think about the sort of practical matters you have to consider to do this, especially for a course which is so far from where you live - like are you giving up work, etc.

What I would be interested in though is to see what photos you included for your portfolio. Do you have them collected together as a group on Flickr?

Skuds - I put them into a set here. They’re not all online, however, as some were hand-developed prints from my A-Level.
