Evangelism through chocolate

I was walking through town on Tuesday when a clipboardy person made a beeline for me. I cringed, waiting for the inevitable tales of woe, but instead was met with “would you like a free bar of chocolate?”. I replied ‘always’ and didn’t even need to break stride as a bar was shoved into my hand. I later discovered it was Fairtrade churchy chocolate and felt mildly guilty. I wouldn’t have accepted it if I’d known; not because of any objection but because I’m pretty much impervious to the intended spirit of evangelism. I didn’t realise at the time, though, so I ate it. Was good.
