Skuds’ mention of the Queen’s visit to Crawley1 reminds me of the time I went to see her open Touchwood shopping centre in Solihull. My (vehemently anti-monarchist) then-girlfriend and I waited along the main street for an hour or so, before the large black limousine rolled around the corner with the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh inside. I’d taken my Dad’s film camera to capture the moment, and this was the stunning result:
