His response to paganism was generally that nature is wonderful, but seeing anything supernatural in it is a mistake. Dunno much about paganism - do people raise their children into it? I'd guess so. I don't know of any paganist groups who demand respect for their religion, tho.</description>

		<description>I think you know already that I can admire and respect Dawkins I think he goes a bit too far in his anti-religion (is an atheist extremist any better than a religious one?) and goes in the wrong direction slightly with his evolutionary theories by dismissing the punctuated equilibrium idea too easily, but I'll save all that for another day.

I would be interested to hear more about his position on pagans. They were not mentioned in The Root Of All Evil - along with Buddhists, Hindus and most other religions apart from Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

I have some pagan friends and it always seemed pretty good to me, with the emphasis on celebrating the bounty of nature instead of thanking anyone for it.</description>
