Not wishing to invade your 'comments' area, but I just have to say:

Woah; I didn't realise you'd actually remember. I seem to recall that the 'Eric' thing may have gone back to Dorridge Infant School. I seem to remember that you once told my mate and I that that was your name, and, knowing that it wasn't really, we wouldn't excuse you of the label for some years, and would occasionally make certain particular noises at you (very bizarre behaviour); childhood immaturity, I guess :-) I also seem to remember you had a 'Thundercats' sword (but who didn't?).

I'm now living down in Plymouth, and only really return 'home' at Christmas, so seeing the photos and talk of 'Dorridge' is causing me to reminisce a fair bit. I've also browsed many of your photos, and recognise just about every friend of yours. I hated school and life back then, but certain memories are still fond.

Any way, apologies for the lengthiness of this reply, but the sense of nostalgia is lingering. I'll keep visiting (probably all the time, what with my internet-using habits....), Eric :-)

Wow, now there's a memory that hasn't surfaced for a very long time! I remember the 'Eric' :-) I'm going to be thinking about that all weekend, I bet! Thanks very much for the kind words - Happy christmas to you too!

I went to your old school. I was in the year above you. A mate and I used to call you 'Eric', at Dorridge Junior School; I'm not sure if this rings any bells. Any way, with that small moment of nostalgia out of the way, I must congratulate you on achieving the seemingly impossible and keeping an interesting, entertaining and thought-provoking blog.

Keep up the good work, and Happy Christmas.
