Tamsin and I went kite flying yesterday. We can say that we gained much from the experience, and future attempts will be the better for it. That we didn’t manage to get the damn thing more than four metres off the ground is a minor footnote. The beaufort scale was down into second decimal places; that was the problem. Yep. Tamsin threw the kite as high as possible, while I ran backwards in vain attempts to keep it airbourne.
It was at this point that a tree leapt into my path, resulting in an unexpected collision. About this no more shall be spoken.
After destroying a unicorn-sporting kite that I suspect was purchased on a beach when I was five years old, we gave up. Like I said: experience.
