Zombies - attack!
In one of the coolest things I’ve ever heard, San Francisco was yesterday invaded by flashmob zombies. The undead prowled from St. Mary’s Square to Union Square, eating any passers-by they came across before supplying them with fake blood and goo to join in the zombie prowl. As Boing Boing reports, they then headed for a picnic in the cemetery. Damn, I’d have loved to have done that
There’s not much on flickr as yet, but there are a some cool cellphone shots here.
Update: Via Waxy, some great shots here.

I was in Toronto about a month ago. It was time for the Canadian Much Music Video Awards, so there was a lot to see. I was just walking around outside the studio, minding my own business. Then out of nowhere I saw a man walking up to me, arms outstretched, with blood pouring out of a massive head wound. I was a bit freaked out, I figured there must have been an accident or mob uprising. I wasn’t sure whether to call an ambulance or look for a police officer. Then I saw another man of the same description, and eventually a few more rounded the corner. I nudged my brother and he saw them too, even though nobody else was taking much notice. We finally realized that one of them was handing out fliers for a new zombie movie. New guerrilla marketing tactic, it seems. Oh, what fun.
Yeek, I can see how that would be a little unnerving!
While we’re talking zombies, have you seen Shaun of the Dead?
