Live 8: Our Day
I'm going to use various posts to talk about Live 8. I may well repeat things I've written in flickr photo descriptions.
Lil and I left for the concert at around 1100, I think. We took the tube to Green Park and followed the crowds. We saw a sign saying 'Show Entrance Queue starts 2000m', which caused some groans from people around us. There were a few people holding 'need a ticket' signs. I'd bet that if they'd held signs saying 'Will pay

Very fab round-up of the day! =D

I am totally confused. We left Victoria and walked to Hyde Park corner – but didn’t leave Victoria until later than 12:30, and when we got to Hyde Park we went up Park Lane.
So it sounds like we were going exactly the same way as you, but getting to the “long queue for justice” more than an hour later.
And yet we managed to catch the end of U2. We must have hit a freak warp in the space-time continuum or something… Seriously, the only way we could have got in there so much earlier when starting so much later is by overtaking you, but I think I would have remembered jumping a queue that size.
One of the mysteries of the day!

Huh, that *is* weird. I suppose if you passed just a little of the queue then that might have been enough to get inside on the major movement that started at around 1340. I think Lil and I were just very unlucky in our timings.
