Lines at Bars

I’ve been reading through my next OU assignment, and noticed that I have to include a histogram. Their example of a histogram is a line graph, which wasn’t what I was expecting. I thought that histograms used bars and their area was the important value…Or is it a more generalised term? Donning my unnecessary cap, I set about finding the truth.

Which turned out not to be so difficult. My dictionary defines histogram as: “a chart in which vertical rectangles of differing sizes are used to represent the class intervals (eg age range) and relative frequencies of a given variable, eg height.”
