Quick Thought

Why does the woman in the advert need to talk to her bank after eight at night? What is it she’s hoping they’ll be able to do before the next morning? There is indeed another way: Internet Banking.

I got my TI-86 working, by the way. After removing and replacing the backup battery I got a very faint cursor, which after a few on-off cycles was able to be contrasted up. I think you’ll find that last phrase is an official entry in the English Literature Professor’s Lexicon, and I didn’t just make it up just now. So now I can play Vertigo do complex calculations involving logs without having to invoke the Sony Ericsson calculator :-)

Your Sony Ericsson can do logs?!

    Chocolate logs?

Oh, and internet banking is still subject to standard bank practices. You might be lucky and get your internal transactions actually completed at the time of submission, but external transactions are still subject to clearing if my memory serves. But, its still better than having to annoy someone on the phone, or at least its the same.

Sorry, that was another example of late-night phraseology not working very well :-) T68i can certainly not do logs!

The woman is moaning about not being able to talk to anybody at all, so if she used the internet she’d be able to do exactly what she wanted to do over the phone. I may be thinking too much about this, of course!

    Most probably ;)
